Ingredients
- 200g crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
- 200g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 200g lobster meat (cooked and roughly chopped)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups seafood broth (or fish stock)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh thyme, for garnish
Instructions
1. Sauté the Aromatics
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant. This forms the flavorful base of your bisque.
2. Simmer the Broth
Pour in 2 cups of seafood broth.
Bring it to a gentle simmer, then add 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, salt, and black pepper to taste. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
3. Add the Seafood
Carefully stir in the crab, shrimp, and lobster meat.
Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, or until the shrimp are fully cooked and the seafood is heated through.
4. Add the Cream
Lower the heat slightly and stir in 1 cup of heavy cream.
Continue to cook for another 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bisque thickens slightly and becomes smooth and silky.
5. Final Touches
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. You can add a splash of lemon juice if you’d like a bit of brightness.
6. Serve & Garnish
Ladle the bisque into warm bowls and garnish with fresh thyme.
Serve hot with crusty bread, oyster crackers, or a light green salad for a complete and elegant meal.
