Philly Cheesesteak Casserole
A cheesy, hearty, and low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak! This casserole combines seasoned ground beef, peppers, onions, and melted provolone cheese for a comforting family dinner that’s easy to make any night of the week.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb. ground beef
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- ½ onion, chopped
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Butter or oil, for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. - Brown the ground beef:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef.
Cook until it’s about halfway browned. - Add the veggies:
Stir in the chopped bell peppers and onion.
Continue cooking until the meat is fully browned and the vegetables are tender. - Add seasoning:
Mix in the minced garlic and seasoned salt.
Sauté for another 30 seconds to bring out the flavor.
Drain off any excess grease. - Layer the casserole:
Spread the beef and veggie mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Top with the slices of provolone cheese to cover the surface. - Prepare the egg mixture:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy whipping cream, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and combined. - Pour over the casserole:
Gently pour the egg mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers. - Bake:
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the egg mixture is set and the top is slightly golden. - Rest and serve:
Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
