Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna – Warm, Sweet & Melt-in-Your-Mouth Comfort!

If you love cinnamon rolls and apple pie, get ready to fall in love with this dessert mashup that tastes like heaven in every bite. Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna combines everything you adore about cozy baked treats — gooey cinnamon rolls, warm spiced apples, and creamy icing all baked together until soft, golden, and irresistible.

It’s the kind of dessert that fills your kitchen with the smell of cinnamon, caramelized apples, and pure nostalgia. Perfect for chilly mornings, weekend brunches, or anytime you’re craving something sweet and heartwarming.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing packets)
  • 4 cups apple pie filling (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (optional, for added caramel sweetness)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Cinnamon Rolls

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Open the cinnamon roll cans and separate them. Slice each roll into about 3 thin rounds (like cutting biscuits) — this helps them layer better in the lasagna.

Set aside the icing packets — you’ll drizzle them on top later.

Step 2: Make the Apple Layer

In a medium bowl, mix the apple pie filling with ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir until the apples are evenly coated in those warm spices.

Tip: If you prefer a chunkier texture, roughly chop the apple slices before mixing.

Step 3: Assemble the First Layer

Arrange half of the cinnamon roll slices on the bottom of your prepared baking dish. Press them slightly to flatten and cover the surface (it’s okay if a few gaps remain — they’ll puff up as they bake).

Spread half of the spiced apple mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls.

Drizzle with 1 tablespoon melted butter and sprinkle lightly with brown sugar for extra caramelization.

Step 4: Add the Second Layer

Repeat the process: add the remaining cinnamon roll pieces on top, pressing gently, then spoon over the remaining apple pie filling.

Finish with the rest of the melted butter and a final dusting of brown sugar.

Step 5: Bake to Gooey Perfection

Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cinnamon rolls are fully cooked through.

You’ll know it’s ready when the apples are bubbling, the kitchen smells like fall, and the rolls have puffed up beautifully into a golden, sticky masterpiece.

If the top is browning too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil for the last 10 minutes.

Step 6: Glaze & Serve

Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes — this allows the layers to set slightly (and keeps you from burning your fingers when diving in early ).

Warm the icing packets that came with the cinnamon rolls slightly (just a few seconds in the microwave) and drizzle them generously over the top.

You can also add a touch of powdered sugar or an extra drizzle of caramel sauce for pure indulgence.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Every bite is soft, gooey, buttery, and bursting with cinnamon-apple flavor.
