Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole
Ingredients:
12 ounces penne or rotini pasta
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound crumbled Italian sausage
1/2 cup pepperoni slices
1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
2 cups marinara sauce or pizza sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
2. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente.
3. Drain and toss with a little olive oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Meat
1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
2. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
3. Drain excess grease, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, cooked meat mixture, marinara sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
3. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
4. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, crumbled bacon, and pepperoni slices evenly on top.
5. If desired, sprinkle red pepper flakes for extra heat.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
