Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A cheesy, hearty, and low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak! This casserole combines seasoned ground beef, peppers, onions, and melted provolone cheese for a comforting family dinner that’s easy to make any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb. ground beef
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Butter or oil, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Brown the ground beef:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef.
Cook until it’s about halfway browned.
  3. Add the veggies:
Stir in the chopped bell peppers and onion.
Continue cooking until the meat is fully browned and the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add seasoning:
Mix in the minced garlic and seasoned salt.
Sauté for another 30 seconds to bring out the flavor.
    Drain off any excess grease.
  5. Layer the casserole:
Spread the beef and veggie mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Top with the slices of provolone cheese to cover the surface.
  6. Prepare the egg mixture:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy whipping cream, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and combined.
  7. Pour over the casserole:
Gently pour the egg mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
  8. Bake:
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the egg mixture is set and the top is slightly golden.
  9. Rest and serve:
Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
